Guild Charter

Guild Charter

We, The members of Bedlam, first and foremost recognize World of Warcraft for what it is at its heart, a game that we play to enjoy ourselves and spend time with mutual friends. We are primarily a PvE guild and will be focusing much of our efforts towards end-game encounters such as Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, Serpentshrine Cavern and so on. In order to maintain our union we have formed this charter to set forth our rules and general guidelines as necessary to facilitate the guild.

1. Public Image

Do nothing to tarnish the guilds name. We do not ninja. We do not spam channels. We want to be respected as a guild on this server. What you do in this guild reflects on the whole guild.

Strive to respect all players at all times. This means no trash talking. This includes, but is not limited to, public chat channels, our forums, other forums and the WOW server forums. We will have very little tolerance with those who break these rules.

Let our accomplishments speak for themselves.

You and solely you are responsible for your account. If, for example, your brother logs on your account and does something ignorant you are responsible.

2. Raid Ettiquette

Communication

When using a voice communication tool the channel being used for the raid is to be clear except when being used by the raid officer. This will help to eliminate over talking and wasted time while we wait for someone to finish their conversation about what they had for breakfast. When we are raiding, we are raiding.

If you do need to speak with someone else in the guild please use tells or raid chat to keep voice chat free.

There will be no complaining about wipes or blaming people. This includes, but is not limited to, complaining to someone in raid chat or a private tell. if someone deserves to be talked to please pst an officer within in the raid and let them address the issue as that is what they are there for.

Start Times

Raid leaders will try their utmost to begin raids on time but are constrained by players showing up on time. Please be prepared to attend raids on time and ready to go at the starting time of the raid if you've committed to be there. The rest of the raid is counting on your attendance. If you're late there is a penalty listed in the DKP section

If you are late for the raid you will be replaced.

Summoning

Summoning should not be a necessity. Sometimes people need a summoning for one reason or another and that is fine. Do not expect one every raid though. Be prepared to start heading to the raid meeting zone at least 30 minutes before the raid. If you know you're going to be late then camp your toon in the zone that we'll be raiding in the night before. Everyone else is making the ffort to be on time for raids so they all expect the same out of you.

Leaving Early

if you know in advance that your not going to be attending the entire raid then please notify an officer as soon as possible so they can have someone waiting on a sits list. We understand that sometimes emergencies come up and we understand that. If you can try to help us replace you before you go. Being one short for that boss kill that we were working towards can really hurt moral for the raid.

AFK's

if there is need for an extended AFK, please notify and officer. If an extended AFK is necessary, above ten minutes, then please exit the zone and leave the raid so that we may replace you. All mobs are on a timer so we can't sit around waiting. If you need to take an AFK you need to notify the raid leader and have it acknowledged before you go. If you leave raid without an explanation regardless of the reason you will be booted from said raid within two minutes if you do not return. I understand that unforseen events can sometimes pull you away without having time to notify the raid leader and you can explain your actions later. The raid leaders are understanding. There will be no excuses though. If you are consistently taking AFK's during a run of more then one minute you will be asked to not join us on raids again.

Buffing

Send tells for buffs. Type out your name in raid chat along with what buffs you are missing. It is your responsible to make sure that you are buffed. If there is one Paladin in the group you can't expect them to be responsible for all 9 to 24 people.

Please bring food with you that you can eat for buffs. For example please bring along Warp Burgers or Golden Fisht Sticks. If you cannot cook your own food bring along the mats and ask a guildmate to cook it for you.

Bring along your extra damage options as well. Examples of these items are sharpening stones, wizard oils and poisons.

Do not forget your reagants either. If you're a priest we expect you to bring candles. If you're a shaman we expect you to have anks. If you're a druid we expect you have the berries for battle rez.

Add ons and Mods

For you to raid in Bedlam you are required to have CT Raid installed.

For you to raid in Bedlam you are required to have Omen Threat meter or Diamond Threat meter installed.

If you are able to decurse you are required to have decursive downloaded.

For you to raid in Bedlam you are required to have Deadly Boss Mod or Big Wigs installed.

You are able to have a damage meter installed to track "your" progress only. Do not post damage meters in any chat form or in the forums. Raids are a not a race to see who can do more damage. We are not going to have our raid wipoing because someone wanted to get a couple more hits in instead of stepping out to bandage if necessary.

Aggro

It is your responsibility to manage your aggro. Feint or Fade or whatever you have to do to reduce your threat. Having the omen threat meter installed is a great way to keep a close eye on where you are on that threat list of any mob in comparison to raid companions. If you don't come to raids with Omen Threat meter installed and working or you are not utilizing it's service you will be asked not to attend further raids unless you are prepared.

Raid Swapping

There will be no swapping of toons within raids to allow for one person to have a shot at the one peice of gear they want. Raids are progressive and you cannot just pick the boss you do. The raid will work together until someone has to be replaced or the raid is called. The absolute only occasion where this can be negated is if the entire raid and I mean the entire raid is ok with a character swap so that one person has a better opportunity for a peice. This is only likely to happen if the person asking for a spot on a boss has been raiding continually and has the DKP to represent that. However having a large amount of DKP does garauntee any position. It only garauntees your ability to purchase something in raids that you attend.

Loot distribution outside of DKP rules

As it was not previously stated before and needs to be set in stone here are some additional rules for the loot dristrbuting when we are raiding. As always the raid will be loot mastered. The loot threshold will be set to rare(blue) at all times. The reason for this is so that when for instance a talent book drops someone who is in our guild who could use that has an opportunity to recieve that item before it ends up with a guild that would just sell it. In the event that a blue piece of equipment drop the raid leader needs to do a ./roll 10 and give the item to the person who's number if falls on. All purples that are BOP that drop within raids fall under the rules of DKP but on occassion we will have a BOE epic that drops and that will be handled very much in the same way. If anyone attending the raid has the capacity to use the item with the toon they are in that raid with and will actually equip the item to make it soulbound then they have the option to purchase that item for DKP. If no one in the raid has the capacity to wear that item then it will be guild banked. This item will then become purchasable with DKP by any member of the guild which they can then supply to their alt if they deem it necessary. The item cost will be based on item values for normal DKP purchases. Requests for said items in the guild bank will be scrutinized to make sure that the person purchasing them will put them to good use. if it is found that someone has purchased an epic from the guild bank just to Disenchant for mats or to sell for gold will be met with repurcussion with the biggest penalty possibly being a guild kick.

3. WOW Chat/Ventrilo/Teamspeak/Forums and all other forms of communication

We are a guild of friends. As such, please maintain a mature level of communication in all forms of guild communication including but not limited to Guild Chat, Ventrilo, Teamspeak and the Guild Forums. This means watch your profanity levels and absolutely no ethnically oriented comments are to be tolerated at any time.

Furthermore, any personal disputes between guild members should they arise should be taken to private messages and not aired for the entire guild to see. Should one or more of the affected parties desire a 3rd party intervention, please send a private message to an officer where the situation can hopefully be resolved in a mature fashion so that it does not interrupt the game play of other guild members.

4. Leadership

The leadership of Bedlam is comprised of the Guild Master, CO-leaders, Raid Officers & Class Officers All to be considered and referred to as guild officers. Please see the link to Guild Ranks for an explanation of what each individual officer class is responsible for and what is expected of the regular guild ranks.

5. Recruitment

Unfortunately World of Warcraft Has a strict 25 man limit to many of the end game instances. This means that although we would like to welcome as many people as possible into our ranks we can not. Therefore the recruitment policies are as follows:

We shall ideally staff a minimum of consistent raiders of every class to be able to progressively raid end game instances.

Responsibility will first fall on Class Officers to identify shortages of their class. They will also be responsible and relied heavily upon to review applications for their class.

Requirements for applying

Level 65+ in general. If you think you'd make a good exception on this point, then please apply and explain your reasoning

Be located within an American Time Zone. Preferrably Pacific time zone. Otherwise have a schedule that will allow you to attend standard raid times.

Consistent internet connection. Your internet needs to be able to support uninterrupted WOW play as well as support a constant connection to a Ventrilo server.

MATURE ATTITUDE IS A MUST. If you're going to argue the definition of mature then you may as well apply somewhere else.

You must be able to download and install the latest raiding mods. Including but not limited to Ventrilo, CTraid, Omen Threat Meter, Deadly boss mod & Decursive for those of you that can dispell.

Your attention to detail is a must. You must come to raids prepared with your own mats, your own mods and ready to take serious instruction with a quick response time. If you're asked to say Innervate a priest you need to be able to do that within three seconds of being asked by the raid leader.

You do not have to be keyed for Kara upon entering the guild but you will need to make the conscious effort with support of other guildies to get yourself keyed and ready to go in a timely manner.

6. Guild Bank

The guild bank will be open for everyone to view at this time. You are able to make deposits at will of either items or money. If you are interested in receiving any of the items that are in the guild bank you will need to send an in-game message to any co-leader or the guild leader with your request.

If there is a high level recipe/pattern/schematic in the guild bank you will only be awarded that item if your "main" toon has that profession and you have been consistently participating in guild raids.

If there is an epic item in the bank you will be required to spend DKP to recieve that item (based on current drop values designated in the DKP explanation tab).

Void crystals will be plentiful in our bank at most given times. if you want to recieve Void Crystals for those top enchants then you once again will have to send a message to a co-leader or to the guild master. Crystals will be awarded at no charge to regular raid attenders.

At this time money in the guild bank will only be used to purchase further tabs once we reach the next amount to buy one. Repairs via the guild bank will not be available at this time.

There will be no point system for deposits to the guild bank or anything of that sort. You are welcome to deposit as much as you want or nothing at all but do remember that when you ask for an item from the guild bank three things will be taken into consideration: Duration with the guild, Raid attendance and your contribution frequency to the guild bank.

7. Alternate Characters

Upon joining the Guild the toon that you've joined with will be classified as your main toon. This is the character that you will be requested to bring to raids within Bedlam. This will help us better estimate staffing concernes.

if a member wishes to bring an alternate character into the guild they are welcome as they guild is a group of friends. There will not be a limit on the number of alts in the guild.

Toons classified as alternate toons will at no time be given any priority for a raid spot when that spot can be filled by a primary character from within the guild.

ßedlam needs to keep the integrity of our recruitment solid as well as keep current tabs on staffing. ßedlam also does not reserve the right to dictate your gaming experience. With that said a new rule and a one time exception has been set in place for people interested in switching their main toons. In most cases people are recruited via their application and their entry was determined via the role they can play in a raid. Therefore we cannot allow multiple main toon switching. However since we are not paying you to be here and we can't dictate your gaming experience the following rule has been put in place: As a (1) one time courtesy ßedlam will allow you to switch your alternate toon into your main position. You are required to notify both Class Officers of each respective class prior to doing so and then you must contact the Guild Leader for the ultimate change with in guild. If you want to change your alt to your main then your alt is required to be at least level 70, Keyed for Karazhan, and geared well enough to participate in raids. Once you meet the requirements and the change has been maid you will not be allowed to switch your main toon again within guild. A record will be tracked of who has changed. In the event that you were accepted into the guild with one of your many toons and you'd like to have one of your alternate toons be your main once they are allowed within guild then that decision will be made between the class officers of those classes and guild leader as to the neccesity of the change. The initiate taking advantage of this will still be allowed their one allotted change. In the event that you want to change your main again once you have already done so you will not be permitted to do so. These rules are set in place to keep clear our roster of what classes are available to actively build proper raid groups.
